Jesus be the center of my life. What exactly does this mean?
I have found that in my life I have chosen to put people and things at the top of my list. We can choose to put Jesus on a to-do list and forget about spending time with him and go about our day as if we are in control and we don't need him. The only time we think about him is if we are going through some kind of trial or hardship.
If we chose to start our day by acknowledging Jesus and asking him to help us with whatever we will face today, our lives would run a lot smoother. I'm not saying that we will never go through hardship but he will make it easier.
Matt. 6:33 says Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. ( all what things? ) Well what does the word of God promise us? That he will give us his love, peace & joy. That he will supply all our needs. I don't know about you but I can use all the love peace & joy I can get in this crazy world we live in.
Jesus's love is not like the worlds love. The world puts conditions on its love, well if you are this way I will love you or if you do this or act that way you will be loved. Not so with Jesus. Jesus loves us unconditionally. We don't have to do anything to earn his love just receive it.
John 16:24 says Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask , and you will receive, that your joy may be full.
The word says ask. What have you been asking for? Material things, selfish things, things that will only benefit you? The only way that things in your life can change is if you ask him. Jesus come in and change the things in me that are not pleasing to you. Help me to make you the center of my life and not just a thing that I call out to when I'm having a problem.
Jesus is the only one that can change you from the inside out. He is a patient God , a gentle God. He is not going to come into your life and say OK now I want everything in your life to be pure and holy in my site. He knows that we are not perfect and does not expect us to be perfect, but he does expect us to strive to become perfect in his sight. Knowing that we will never be perfect until we reach heaven.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new.
So let's wrap this up. How can we make Jesus the center of our life? First we need to ask him to forgive us of our sin and to come in and live in our hearts. Second we need to acknowledge our need for him in our life. Third we need to ask him to be the center of our life. To help us stay focused on him and make a conscious daily decision to put him first in our lives. The first thing we should think about when we open our eyes in the morning and the last thing that we thing think about at night should be Jesus.
Jesus please be the center of my life from beginning to the end. Jesus you are all I need.
I pray that you have been encouraged with this blog and that I have been able to help you to see the need for Jesus in your life. He is waiting for you to ask him for his help. He loves you unconditionally and wants to be the center of your life.
Sincerely:
Tina
