Thought for the day

Every day we have chooses or decisions that we have to make. How we make those decisions can be detrimental to the outcome of those chooses. Every choose or decision has a consequence whether it's good or bad. So therefore we need to really think and pray before we choose to do or say something that can potentially cause harm to ourselves and or others.

The words that come out of our mouth can bring death or life to the hearer. We need to be slow to speak and quick to listen ( James 1:19-20 ).  By choosing our words wisely we can be the mouth piece of the Lord.

I remember in my younger days that I had very little control of the words that flew out of my mouth. I was very outspoken and blunt. I did just the opposite of what the word of God says to do. I was quick to speak and slow to listen. It did not matter to me if the things that I said hurt somebody, I was going to speak my mind and they would just have to deal with it. I used my words to harm people rather than to encourage and uplift people. I did not realize the damage that I was doing to them. I have hurt a lot of people in my life with my words, and the things that I have said can never be taken back. Thank the Lord He offers forgiveness for the things I've done wrong in my life. All I can do now is pray that the Lord heal the people that I have damaged with my words and ask them to forgive me.

You know that old saying the devil made me do it. Well there is some truth to that saying. We have a chose on who we listen to. I like to explain it like this. We have an angle or God on one shoulder and the devil on the other shoulder both influencing us on what to say, how to act; or react, what to do, where we should go or not go; what we should be watching or listening to. Now its up to us to choose the right things and we all know right from wrong.

So how do we determine which one is influencing us. Well first of all we need to check it with the word of God. Are the things we are saying or doing backed up by the word of God or is it a contradiction of the word of God. We need to know the characteristics of God in order to judge correctly.

Some of the characteristics of God that he shares with us are Holiness ( 1 Peter 1:15-16 ) Wisdom ( Isaiah 28:29, Colossians 2:2-3  ) Truthfulness ( Numbers 23:19, Isaiah 45:19 ) Love Psalms 33:5, Psalms 89:2 ) Faithfulness ( Deuteronomy 7:9 ) Righteousness ( Psalms 89:14, 1 Corinthians 1:30 ) Grace ( Nehemiah 9:17, 2 Timothy 1:9 )

Gods voice will still you ( Be still and know that I am God ) Reassures you, leads you, enlightens you, forgives you, calms you, encourages you, and comforts you.
Satan's voice will rush you, frighten you, push you, confuse you, condemns you, stresses you, discourages you, and worries you. They are total opposites of one another this is why you need to know the word of God and how to discern between the two voices.

Who is influencing your chooses and decisions? It's totally up to you to decide on how you choose to live your life and the legacy that you will leave when you are gone. What will people think about you when you are no longer here on this earth.

My prayer for you today is that you would strive to be a better person. Always remembering that every day is a new beginning and that you can choose to do thing the same way that you have in the past or you can make the changes in your life to become a person that leaves a great legacy.

Sincerely:

Tina

Thought for the day

Sometimes in life we come to a place where we need to make some chooses. What will be your next step, what will be your next job, where will I go from here. Life is always evolving, changing. As people we grow and change all the time. Sometimes we even grow out of relationships or friends. This is not necessarily a bad thing. People are put in our lives for a reason or season. When someone is put into our life for a season its because we need to learn something from this person. Once we have learned what we are suppose to learn from that person they usually move on and we don't stay in contact with them anymore or have very minimal contact.

On the other hand there are those people that are put into our life for reason and they usually stay for the duration of your life. Could be your friend or your spouse. I chose to call these people your ride or die partners. They will be there for you no matter what, in the good, the bad and the ugly times. They never judge you or want to change you they except you just the way you are.

God is a ride or die partner. He will never leave you nor forsake you. He does not force anything on you and only expects you to grow at your own pace. He will hold your hand and guide you through any situation. Never condemning or putting you down for the mistakes that you make. He know's that you are not perfect and that you are going to make some wrong chooses in life. He is always willing to forgive you and say come on let's try this again. He is the ultimate ride or die partner. People will always let you down but God never will.

Now concerning the chooses or decisions that we need to make in life, God will give you the guidance that you need if you ask Him. ( Isaiah 28:29 )  This also comes from the Lord of hosts, who is wonderful in counsel and excellent in guidance. There are three answers that you will get from the Lord 1) yes 2) no 3) wait. We all love to hear the yes answer because we are getting exactly what we want. We never want to hear the no answer because we want what we want, but God know's what's best for us and if He is saying no then it's because whatever it is that we are asking for is not necessarily going to be good for us and can potentially be harmful for us. On the other hand the wait answer is very difficult to handle because we want thing now, in this generation we have no patients for anything. ( Isaiah 40:31 ) But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wing like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

There have been times in my life that I received the wait answer. I didn't like it and would sometimes try to do thing's my own way going ahead of what God's plan was for my life. All this did was prolong my wait time. God's plan will always prevail no matter what. We can choose to do thing's our own way and go around the same mountain over and over again never learning or growing from our mistakes or we can surrender to His will and let Him gently counsel or guide us though whatever situation we may be facing in life. I can tell you through experience that it is better to surrender to His will and allow Him to counsel and guide you through than to choose to do things your own way and end up right back where you started from.

About seventeen years ago the Lord put somethings in my heart to do and I choose to do things my own way. Now God allowed me to walk out the path that I wanted to and even blessed me along the way. I had to go through some very difficult situations that I may have been able to avoid had I just waited on God to bring things to pass. Never the less God is faithful and protected me through everything I had to go through, Ultimately I have ended up doing exactly what He wanted me to do seventeen years ago and I am totally happy. I had to give up a relationship that I though I could never live without. But come to find out the relationship was not good for me because it was causing me harm and hindering me from doing what God had called me to do.

My prayer for you today is that you would surrender to Gods plan for your life. Allowing him to counsel and guide you through every step of the way. Learning and grown in the knowledge of Christ.

Sincerely:

Tina

Thought for the day

Life seems to have it up's and its down's. Sometime we are up and everything seems to being going good for us. We are just cruising through life on auto pilot not really stressing or worrying about anything. We tend to become comfortable, complacent, or even stagnant in life even in our spiritual life. When we are in this season of our life we need to keep our eyes open and focused on God refueling our spirits because the adversary is roaming to and fro seeking whom he may devour.
 ( 1 Peter 5:8 )

Adversary - a person, group, or force that opposes or attacks an opponent, an enemy
Devour - to use up or destroy, to prey upon

We need to be vigilant in life, not worrying but watchful noticing signs of danger. One of the things they teach you in self defense classes is that you need to always be aware of your surroundings. Looking around seeing who is close by you, who is watching you signs of potential danger. The same thing needs to be done with your spiritual walk. We need to be in prayer and constant communication with the Lord. We need to be prayed up and fueled up with his word, How are we suppose to fight with the word of  God is we don't know what the word says.

We need to put on the whole armor of God ( Ephesians 6:10-20 ) and take up our sword of the spirit which is the word of God and be ready to fight. So how do you fight in the spirit? Well you need to be in prayer know what the word of God says that way when the enemy or someone tells you something you know if its truth or not, Example if someone tells you that you will never amount to anything and that you will fail at everything because you are stupid. You can combat it with the word of God because you will know what the word of God says that you are fearfully and wonderfully made. ( Psalm 139:14 ) or that you are more than a conqueror ( Romans 8:37 )

I remember a time in my life when I was at a place of complacency or on auto pilot and the enemy came in and ripped the carpet right out from under my feet. I thought I was going to die that I was never going to be able to get back up again and live a happy normal life. My whole world came crashing down and everything that I thought to be true just became a lie. The person that I thought I was suppose to be was no longer. You see I thought I was suppose to be a wife, a homemaker that was my calling in life. So when my husband of 30 years left my whole world came to a crashing halt and everything that I knew was suddenly gone.

The only thing that I knew was truth was the word of God. I cried out to Him and asked for help and held on with both hands. He began to grow me and mature me into a fearfully and wonderfully made woman of God. Showing me that He is the Lover of my soul and that if He is for me no one can come against me. Man tried to tear me down time and time again but God would not let that happen He protected me from potential danger gave me wisdom to know when to walk when to run or when to just stand and know that He was God. I haven't completely arrived or become a perfect Christian and never will until I meet my Lord in the sky. But I do know this that God will never leave me nor forsake me and He will never give me more than I can handle. If He will do this for me He will do it for you all you need to do is call out to Him and ask Him for His help.

I pray that my words encourage you and that you know that you are never alone. God is just a prayer away and can help you through anything you may be facing today. If you need prayer please feel free to leave a comment.

Sincerely:

Tina

Thought for the day

I have been through some things in my life that have caused me to loose heart, to think that I was not going to make it. To want to give up and just turn around and walk away from God or the path that I was walking on. I felt all alone in my situation and felt that no one new what I was going through and I had no one to turn to.

Four years ago my husband of 30 years decided that he did not want to be married anymore and left me and filed for a divorce. I was so hurt, embarrassed and ashamed that he had left me I did not know where to turn. I was raised in church and I knew what the bible said about marriage and divorce. Marriage was supposed to be till death do us part. Therefore I was very confused because I had been praying for God to renew my marriage thinking this could not be from God, God's word says that He hates divorce.

Although I knew God and what His word said that He would never leave me nor forsake me (Hebrews 13:5), I still felt so alone and confused. and began to doubt His word. But God is so faithful and merciful that He saw me through every dark and lonely place that I seemed to be in at that time in my life. I struggled with my faith and my salvation, but knew that I had to keep my eyes on the Lord because He was the only way I was going to make it through. I stumbled and fell several times but thank God He was there to always pick me up and encourage me to keep going.

In Galatians 6:9 it says And let us not grow weary while doing good , for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

I encourage you today to keep your head up and look to God because no matter what you are going through or how dark the situation may seem God has a plan for your life a plan to prosper you and not to harm you plans for your future. You may not see the whole picture but God does keep your eyes on Him and don't grow weary.

Sincerely

Tina

Thought for the day

We all have failures in life. Thing that we have started and never finished. Things that we have been inspired to start but never put action to the plan. We have all fallen at times in our lives and done things that we are not so proud of.
A failure is not so much that you failed at doing something or did not complete something. A failure is when you fail at something or fall and never get back up and try again. Thomas Edison try 1000 times before he was successful with the light bulb. "Great success is built on failure, frustration, even catastrophy." Sumner Redstone.

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

I have chosen to live my life according to this scripture. It has helped me to accomplish things I never thought I could and has encouraged me to try things I thought were impossible to reach. I know that I am not where I should be but I am no longer where I use to be. Every day is a learning opportunity and you can chose to learn and grow from your failures or you can just give up and never become who you are meant to be in life.

I want to leave a positive legacy. I want people to look at my life and say if she can do that and be successful then I can do it to. I know that God has a plan for each and every one of us, I want to walk out the plan successfully. Knowing that I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me. I want my life to be an encouragement for others.

My prayer for you today is that you are encouraged by these words and that if you have failed at something in your life and it has weighed you down and discouraged you to the point of giving up that you would stand up and say I can do it.

Sincerely

Tina

Thought for today

Today is a brand new day. Yesterday is gone tomorrow is not yet here so all we can do is live in the moment. So often we bog our minds down with things of the past or the future and the reality of it is,its in the past ( one second ago or 20 years ago ) and there is nothing we can do to change it. We must learn to move on and move forward otherwise we will never grow or become wiser we will simply be stuck in the muck.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
I chose to live today for today taking one step at a time, one adventure at a time and enjoying every moment that the Lord blesses me with today.
I pray that this blog encourages you and gives you the courage to walk in freedom today and every day.

Sincerely
