Life seems to have it up's and its down's. Sometime we are up and everything seems to being going good for us. We are just cruising through life on auto pilot not really stressing or worrying about anything. We tend to become comfortable, complacent, or even stagnant in life even in our spiritual life. When we are in this season of our life we need to keep our eyes open and focused on God refueling our spirits because the adversary is roaming to and fro seeking whom he may devour.
( 1 Peter 5:8 )
Adversary - a person, group, or force that opposes or attacks an opponent, an enemy
Devour - to use up or destroy, to prey upon
We need to be vigilant in life, not worrying but watchful noticing signs of danger. One of the things they teach you in self defense classes is that you need to always be aware of your surroundings. Looking around seeing who is close by you, who is watching you signs of potential danger. The same thing needs to be done with your spiritual walk. We need to be in prayer and constant communication with the Lord. We need to be prayed up and fueled up with his word, How are we suppose to fight with the word of God is we don't know what the word says.
We need to put on the whole armor of God ( Ephesians 6:10-20 ) and take up our sword of the spirit which is the word of God and be ready to fight. So how do you fight in the spirit? Well you need to be in prayer know what the word of God says that way when the enemy or someone tells you something you know if its truth or not, Example if someone tells you that you will never amount to anything and that you will fail at everything because you are stupid. You can combat it with the word of God because you will know what the word of God says that you are fearfully and wonderfully made. ( Psalm 139:14 ) or that you are more than a conqueror ( Romans 8:37 )
I remember a time in my life when I was at a place of complacency or on auto pilot and the enemy came in and ripped the carpet right out from under my feet. I thought I was going to die that I was never going to be able to get back up again and live a happy normal life. My whole world came crashing down and everything that I thought to be true just became a lie. The person that I thought I was suppose to be was no longer. You see I thought I was suppose to be a wife, a homemaker that was my calling in life. So when my husband of 30 years left my whole world came to a crashing halt and everything that I knew was suddenly gone.
The only thing that I knew was truth was the word of God. I cried out to Him and asked for help and held on with both hands. He began to grow me and mature me into a fearfully and wonderfully made woman of God. Showing me that He is the Lover of my soul and that if He is for me no one can come against me. Man tried to tear me down time and time again but God would not let that happen He protected me from potential danger gave me wisdom to know when to walk when to run or when to just stand and know that He was God. I haven't completely arrived or become a perfect Christian and never will until I meet my Lord in the sky. But I do know this that God will never leave me nor forsake me and He will never give me more than I can handle. If He will do this for me He will do it for you all you need to do is call out to Him and ask Him for His help.
I pray that my words encourage you and that you know that you are never alone. God is just a prayer away and can help you through anything you may be facing today. If you need prayer please feel free to leave a comment.
Sincerely:
Tina
